I drew this a while ago, but given that Piste 01 is in action today and woke me at 4:30am it’s still relevant. It’s mind-boggling that despite several court orders against Brussels airport planes are still flying this low over a densely populated residential area all through the night in the capital of the European Union.
The only thing I can say in its favour is that it has at least made me unable to ignore the downsides of air travel: noise pollution, air pollution… and oh yeah CLIMATE CHANGE! THE IMMINENT BREAKDOWN OF CIVILISATION AS WE KNOW IT. Last year I took 2 return aeroplane flights, and this year I intend to take only one.
