It’s finished! And so am I for the week at bang on 5:30pm – laters!
I’m trying to do a fairly large painting (50cm x 60cm) of my Ixelles watercolour postcard. I think I still need to add a few more layers of paint for it to be finished.
This painting of one of my artathon postcards has been frustrating me for a few days now. I’m still not sure I’ve got it right – I think I will have to do some repainting at a later date, but for now this is how it’s looking:

This painting is based on a watercolour I did for my artathon last year. It’s from a photo I took of St Catherines place from the top of the ferris wheel they put up at Christmas every year.
I haven’t done any painting with acrylics in about 3 months because I was taking intensive French lessons, and the writing I was doing for that along with finishing off my artathon watercolour postcards meant my arm was just too tired to do anything else. I quite like the blob effect so I’ve done some of my favourite postcards in blob style!
I love the ponds in Ixelles and these are a few postcards I’ve done of the area from above. I’ve been monitoring the progress of the six cygnets that were born this summer in the top pond and are now nearly fully grown, they are so beautiful!
