We drove to the Atlantic coast on the West of France to stay at Club Med La Palmyre Atlantique. Unfortunately a stone clipped our windscreen about 2 hours away from the Club Med and cracked it, and the crack just kept on getting bigger and bigger as we drove. The only appointment we could get to fix it was in Saintes on the day we were supposed to be leaving France, so it did end up being a bit of a detour to add to an already 8 and half hour drive, but Saintes was very pretty and luckily there were no problems with the replacement windscreen so we still managed to get home that day even if it was 1am by the time we got there! The holiday itself was really nice though, I highly recommend Club Med with kids, they had fun at the kids club in the mornings and we actually got some relaxing time (even if a not insignificant part of it was on the phone to Carglass in French). Also the food was great, even if Isabel did chose to only eat spaghetti bolognaise for lunch and dinner every single day for 7 days straight.
