Being a pedestrian in Brussels is infuriating. The combination of constantly having to dodge dog poo and dangerously driven tax free company cars makes me feel that instead of mouthing swear words at SUV drivers I need actual signs in multiple languages! And yes, it is a systemic problem that we have designed our citiesContinue reading “Signs I need as a pedestrian”
I’m so torn between keeping my daughter in school because she’s six, she needs school! She needs friends! She needs to get out of the house! I need her out of the house! Set against the inevitability of her getting covid in the next few weeks given the higher transmissibility of the Omicron variant andContinue reading “The fifth wave”

In Belgium they re-opened creches as of May 2020 and nursery school age children were allowed back toContinue reading “Covid and Childcare”
At the end of 2020 we took a little trip to Beauraing in the Ardennes and stayed in a little self-catered apartment attached to the owner’s main home. I don’t think we will ever stay there again as the layout made it quite tricky with the girls and none of us were able to sleepContinue reading “New Years Eve trip”
We had a few days on the Belgian coast during my daughter’s half term holiday. It was really nice to see the sea, and I would highly recommend the farm that we stayed on vakantiehoeve ‘t Goed ter Leeuwen. We’re going to go back in February again, and ha this time try not to accidentallyContinue reading “Trip to the Belgian coast”
During lockdown I couldn’t do anything art wise because looking after the kids was all consuming, but in June Belgium suddenly announced that schools would reopen and so I had a period of a month before the summer holidays to do a few things for friends.
