He’s already done worse stuff since (Rosebank, backtracking on 20mph zones, declaring war on 15 minute neighbourhoods etc), but Sunak’s speech about cancelling a non-existent 7 bin policy was pretty stupid. 7 bins is in no way a burden if you have a garden with space for a home composter! And there SHOULD be a meat tax and taxes on flights, and a greatly reduced number of private cars if we are in any way serious about reducing our emissions. I stopped eating lamb and beef this year, and stopped flying 5 years ago, and I use my electric bike for as many journeys as I can, and none of those things have negatively affected my life – what has is hearing about one climate related disaster after another unfolding day after day (Greece fires/flooding, ongoing Canadian wildfires, Istanbul flooding, Libya flooding, NYC flooding etc etc etc… ) and the people in power acting as though we can still continue as we are.
