Cartoon maps

For nearly every holiday I’ve been on since 2009 I’ve tried to do a cartoon ‘map’ that records all the funny silly sayings and most important things that happened on the trip.

In 2019 as a family we stopped flying because of its insanely high carbon footprint, and also because of how bad it is in terms of immediate noise and air pollution. It has meant our holiday destinations have become less exotic, but it really doesn’t matter when you are with friends or family! Sophie comes to Brussels part 11!

Four years after Sophie first came to visit she came back to see us again! It was really nice to see Sophie and Isabel together again- they are only 5 days apart in age and they get on really well. We managed to pack in quite a few things on their 2 and half day Read more

    Easter 2024

I didn’t do so much of a cartoon of our trip this time as several little pictures. I didn’t take enough notes of the holiday, and I left it too long afterwards before I drew the pictures to remember any funny/silly things which I am a bit sad about. We did have a nice trip Read more

    Westerweg

I’ve finally gotten round to finishing this cartoon of our trip to Westerweg in North Holland with some friends. We had an awesome time despite Storm Henk causing some damage to the roof of the house we rented on our first night! (The owners were very good and came round the next day with a Read more

    Ghent trip

In January my friend Katy came to stay for the weekend. The Wednesday before she arrived there was nearly 10cm of snow in Brussels (which is quite unusual for Brussels!), and the temperatures were so cold it didn’t melt until Sunday afternoon, so we were able to go sledding in the forest with my daughters Read more
